  1. I saw the Bluerunners at the New Orleans Jazz Fest in the mid's and thought they were the highlight of the artists playing that year. You will love this CD and it will grow on you more and more. Their music is beautiful and haunting one minute, then cajun the next, then exuberantly rocking.5/5(1).

  4. It is not too difficult to imagine an alternate universe in which this is a historically critical album. Just a year after Uncle Tupelo spawned an entire subgenre by mixing country and punk with an album whose title is now the name of the style (No Depression), The Bluerunners released this debut album, sounding like a collaboration between Clifton Chenier and The Stooges, complete with snarling vocals/5(3).

  5. ‎Named for a Louisiana swamp fish, the Bluerunners are essentially a Cajun rock & roll group; except when they play traditional Cajun music, or the blues, or funk. They seem to defy any attempt to pigeonhole their music. They have been likened to Los Lobos, except the language they sing in is French. Available with an Apple Music subscription.
